Last month the weather started changing out here in the Grand Valley. The usual highs of 90+ degrees seemingly dropped overnight to highs in the 70’s and while Denver was getting pelted with snow 400 miles away, everyone who calls this city home was reminded why we love this little slice of heaven in the valley.

Britney and Mike said their vows to each other on one of these perfect fall days, committing their lives to each other in front of 80 of their closest friends and family members. Mike and Britney live nothing short of the most adventurous life. Their vows and toasts reminisce on their time spent on rivers, backpacking, camping and seeking out new places to explore around the western states they’ve called home. They live now in Jackson, Wyoming, the idyllic gateway town to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park.

Their intimate backyard wedding overlooked Colorado National Monument, with trees still holding onto their green leaves around the long ranch and dirt roads that surround northern Grand Junction. Kids roamed around playing catch with their elders, and everyone once in a while you would catch kids dancing on the dance floor, emitting laughs from every passerby who happened to catch a glimpse of a child doing the floss.

Their reception was tented with the nearby dance floor covered in Edison lightbulbs. It was such an honor to meet these two adventurous spirits and to be able to capture their intimate backyard wedding.
