Anniversary Photos in the San Juan Mountains of Ouray

Anniversary Photos in the San Juan Mountains of Ouray that feature high altitude lakes up on Red Mountain pass, and one of Colorados best hot springs!

Ouray, Colorado is a small mountain town about 2 hours south of where I live in Grand Junction. It’s surrounded by idealistic mountains, and has so many things to do in the area. Some of my personal favorites are:

  • Box Canyon

  • Cascade Falls

  • Yankee Boy Basin (4x4)

  • Red Mountain Pass

On top of that, it is one of my favorite spots to photograph couples that are looking for those stunning mountain views. This is one of the few places where you don’t need 4x4 to get to picturesque Colorado.

If you’re looking for an anniversary session like these two, and engagement, elopement, or wedding photographer: get in touch!

If you’re looking for the perfect Colorado hot spring for your photos, check out some of my favorite private hot springs that you can rent on Airbnb, or book a session today to find a list of my favorite locations to photograph around the San Juan Mountains. Sessions start at $900 plus travel!

Zoë + Brannan | Colorado National Monument Adventurous Couple Session

Capturing Zoë and Brannans relationship amongst the backdrop of the western Colorado desert! We do a in-home session and then adventure around Colorado National Monument for an adventurous outdoor session!

A few weeks ago Zoë reached out to me through instagram about photographing her and her boyfriend, here in Grand Junction! We chatted for a few weeks before we initially met up outside of the city where she helped me with some product shots I had to wrap up! We chatted about how her and Brannan met and their recent travels and busy schedule to keep up with Brannans work that takes him all over!

Zoë and Brannan originally wanted some greenery in their location, but with the Grand Mesa being buried under 16 feet of snow, we ended up doing an in-home session in their adorable house downtown, and then made our way over to adventure around Colorado National Monument!

Being late February, we were all a little curious about what the weather would be like. While I’m definitely a fan of inclement weather, it was nice to have a typical Grand Valley spring day; it was around 50 degrees and a lot of the snow from the previous weeks had already melted off!
