A magical Crested Butte Wedding Experience

We kicked off the day at a stunning mountain pass, catching the most breathtaking sunrise. After soaking in the calm mountain air and saying their vows privately to each other, we headed to a small coffee shop in the tiniest town you can imagine (like, 60 people live there!). It was the perfect quiet break before the fun really began! And by fun I mean theres just the teeny tiniest sketchy part of four wheel drive road that we had to head up to get to the most incredible alpine lake.

So we hit the lake for a canoeing adventure—laughing, paddling, and really soaking in the moment. After all that fun, we went our separate ways and took a quick nap to recharge before spending the afternoon fishing by the river, sharing whiskey, and just being in nature. Then, just like that, a rainstorm rolled in! Very typical of Colorado to show off like that.

Instead of letting it dampen the day, we ran through the rain, totally soaked and laughing the whole way back to the car. The rain only made the sunset that followed even more magical. And listening to Ironic by Alanis Morrisette (“its like rainnnnn on your wedding day” while we sat in the parking lot waiting for the weather to pass was peak unforgettable experience). So in true Crested Butte in July fashion, ended the day in a field of wildflowers, watching the golden light fade on the wild stormy clouds. It was the perfect finish to a perfect Crested Butte wedding adventure.
